Governor of Taiz Nabil Shamsan held Wednesday elaborated meeting with representatives of the Office of Coordinating Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) and of international and UN organizations working in Yemen discussing with them key challenges facing their humanitarian activities.
Governor Shamsan confirmed that the local authority provides all facilitations to the organizations for facilitating their work in safe atmospheres, pointing out that security forces work, in cooperation with offices of international cooperation and planning, on securing premises of the organizations and their movements.
He added that these efforts have encouraged the organizations to open offices in Taiz and their emergency response plans realize great help to beneficiaries in field of health, education, water and sanitation and assistances to displaced people, in addition to maternity and childhood services.
For his part, the Coordination of OCHA Abdulmalik al-Rabadi and representatives of the organizations, reviewed interventions of their organizations in different fields.
Al-Rabidi reviewed also mechanisms of the United Nations on providing humanitarian assistances to the deserved, praising efforts of the governor on convincing the organizations to open offices in Taiz to resume their activities and that the most of these organizations are implementing projects worth millions of dollars.
