ISESCO inscribes four Yemeni sites on the Islamic World Heritage List

The Islamic World Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ISESCO) added four Yemeni archaeological sites and monuments to the list of heritage in the Islamic world, at the conclusion of the meeting of the Organization's Heritage Committee in the Moroccan capital, Rabat.

Our country's ambassador to Morocco, Ezzedine Al-Asbahi, received from ISESCO Director General, Dr. Salem Al-Malik, and Moroccan Minister of Culture, Dr. Mohamed Bensaid, the shield and certificates of registration of sites in a major international celebration.

Ambassador Al-Asbahi said that the list included four sites and landmarks of the Yemeni heritage, which combined natural monuments, archaeological sites and intangible heritage, namely the Socotra Archipelago, Sirah Castle in Aden, Sana’a songs, date palms, knowledge, skills, traditions and practices noting that this is part of another list that will be worked on in order to preserve the Yemeni heritage and the various monuments, especially those that face the risk of extinction.
