Member of the Presidential Leadership Council, Major General Aidarous Qassem Al-Zabeedi received today at the Presidential Palace in Maasheq a high-level delegation from the World Bank.

At the beginning of the meeting, Al-Zabeedi welcomed the delegation, which included the Dean of the Board of Executive Directors of the World Bank Group, stressing the importance of having a representation of the World Bank in the temporary capital Aden, as it is one of the most prominent international partners that had and still has a prominent role in development and humanitarian support for our country.

Major General Al-Zabeedi stressed that the visit of the World Bank delegation to Aden for the second time since the outbreak of the war is appreciated, praising the great efforts made by the Bank's mission to stand by our people in these difficult times.

Al-Zabeedi called for intensifying the interventions of the World Bank to support livelihoods related to the suffering of citizens, most notably enhancing food security, supporting sustainable development projects and infrastructure projects in the energy, health and education sectors, and building capacity in government institutions.
