Taiz - Saba
The Governor of Taiz, Nabil Shamsan, discussed with a visiting UN headed by the Deputy Humanitarian Coordinator of the United Nations in Yemen Diego Zorrilla, the basic needs that would alleviate the humanitarian suffering of the people of the province.
In the meeting, Governor Shamsan stressed the importance of the visit of the delegation to see closely the suffering of the people of Taiz, especially the suffering caused by the siege imposed by the Houthi coup militia due to the closure of the main roads, which led to the difficulty of movement and travel and the high cost of goods and merchandise with a significant increase in all governorates, calling on international organizations to raise their voice and exercise their role in pressing Houthis to unblock the roads, which represent the most important humanitarian issue.
Governor Shamsan touched on the governorate’s needs in the sectors of education, health, water and sanitation, support for the displaced, de-mining, and enhancing the WFP's activities in Taiz and the activities of all organizations given the governorate’s population density.
