The head of the General Authority for Fisheries in the Arabian Sea (Hadhramaut - Shabwa - Socotra), Engineer Yeslam Babalgoum, discussed today, in Mukalla, with a European delegation that included the Deputy Ambassador of France to our country and the Head of the Cooperation Department at the German Embassy in Yemen and representatives from the World Food Program, FAO and the United Nations Development Program, the situation of the fisheries sector and the difficulties it suffers from.
The meeting reviewed the reality of the fisheries sector, the challenges it faces, and the damages inflicted on the sector due to weather conditions. It called for supporting development projects for the fish sector, especially in the infrastructure of landing centers, which would improve the value and quality of fish.
