FM discusses truce with UN envoy for Yemen

Minister of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs Ahmad Awadh bin Mubarak received Monday here UN Envoy for Yemen Hans Grundberg discussing with him the UN truce, making it successful and finalizing its items.

Bin Mubarak made it clear that the government has been keen on alleviating humanitarian suffering and making the UN envoy's efforts successful; honoring its commitments, stopped the war, opened Sana'a Airport and Hodeida Port and showed high flexibility in dealing with UN efforts while Houthi militia continues its violations to the truce and rejects to end its siege on Taiz.

He pointed out to Stockholm Agreement when Houthi militia intended to politicize Taiz's file and breached its commitments.

For his part, the UN envoy praised position of the government of Yemen and its keenness and flexibility to alleviate humanitarian suffering and making the truce successful.

He confirmed that Taiz's file is on the top list of his priorities and that he understands government and people's positions regarding Taiz's file, pointing out that the discussions are continuing and he will work on finalizing the truce's conditions with support from international community.
