Govt, UN's agencies discuss food security, economic recovery

A high-profile delegation from the Yemeni government and the UN's agencies held deliberations here today on several issues in connection to the food security, economic recovery, create job opportunities, improving basic services and bolster social care network.

The government's delegation included Ministers of Planning and International Cooperation, Water and Environment, Social Affairs and Labor, Agriculture and Fishery, Minister of State and Aden governor, Deputy Ministers of Planning and International Cooperation, Public Health and Population and Education.

The Representatives of the UN's agencies in Yemen including the Coordinator of Humanitarian Affairs, UNDP, UNICEF and UNFPA.

The gathering which is being held for the first time since 20155 aimed to initiate the governmental consultations with the UN's agencies in order to come up with a program that can support the transformation of the relief action into the economic recovery, development and national priorities which the UN's agencies will contribute to achieve in the framework of the cooperation between the Yemeni government and the UN's organizations.
