Deputy Governor of Marib Abd-Rabu Miftah discussed Tuesday with the delegation of World Health Organization headed by Fuad Khan, who is the Chairman of Health Bloc in Yemen, situation of health sector in Marib and challenges facing it.
The meeting touched upon necessity of absorbing needs of health sector in the province within organizations' human response plan in Yemen and in the map of humanitarian interventions of health bloc led by the organization.
The meeting also reviewed many urgent needs by health sector and challenges facing it, especially under increasing numbers of displaced people in 194 camps and integrating of 88 percent of them with the hosting society amid deterioration of health sector over challenges facing Marib Province.
Miftah praised humanitarian interventions of health organization for supporting health sector in the province during the past period, expressing hope of expanding interventions, stressing that the organization should have an office in Marib to help tackling increasing needs of health sector.
For his part, the UN official reviewed fields of humanitarian partnership between the organization and local authority in Marib and interventions WHO provides to the people, pointing out that his visit to Marib aims at inspecting needs to include them in future plans.
