A human rights report revealed that landmines planted by the Houthi militias have killed 2,818 civilians and injured 3,655 others during the period from April 2014 to March 2022 in 17 governorates.

The report issued by 9 human rights and humanitarian organizations operating in the Marib governorate in coordination with the human rights, social affairs and labor ministries on the occasion of the International Day for Awareness of Mine Risks said 596 public and private facilities, sustained partial and total damage by these mines.

The report indicated that field monitoring teams documented 12,000 violations, ranging from killing, injury, and damage to public and private facilities and properties.

The report showed that Taiz governorate sustained the highest number of mine-related violations, with a total of two thousand 243 violations, including 549 deaths, followed by Al Hudaydah governorate with a total of 1,716 deaths.
