[31/03/2022 07:01]

RIYADH - SABA
Parliament Speaker Sultan al-Barakani received Thursday US Envoy for Yemen Tim Lenderking discussing with him latest political developments and efforts for realizing peace.

Al-Barakani reviewed difficult conditions and tragic situations suffered by Yemeni people over Houthi militia's coup against the state and challenges facing peace chances in Yemen over Houthi militia's rejection to all regional and international peace initiatives.

He also reviewed Houthi militia's crimes and siege on Taiz for seven grueling years, confirming that suffering of people of Taiz calls upon international community and right and humanitarian organizations to adopt serious and firm position towards Houthi militia to lift the unjust siege and killing children, women and citizens and to open roads and outlets in this province and others.

He confirmed that negligence of international community of taking care of Taiz and implementing articles of Stockholm Agreement on Taiz has encouraged Houthi militia to continue their crimes and siege on Taizi people.

He praised efforts of the United States for supporting Yemeni people and its constitutional legitimacy and praised US positions against Iranian aspirations in Yemen and the region.

We are with peace choice and with all efforts and initiatives for realizing inclusive and just peace despite Houthi militia's rejection to peace, said al-Barakani.

He touched upon Yemeni-Yemeni consultations in Riyadh, confirming that these consultations are considered significant step for brining views closer and unifying efforts to end Houthi militia's coup and ending suffering of Yemeni people.

For his part, the US envoy confirmed continuing work on Yemen's crisis, showing understanding of suffering of Yemeni people over Houthi militia's coup and war.

He also confirmed that he will contribute in lifting siege on Taiz as the province and Marib have great concern to him and his country.
