Brussels – Saba
A number of European Parliamentarians stressed that the ongoing crimes committed by the Houthi militia against civilians in Yemen are a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law, and have caused the displacement of thousands of civilians and damage to civilian infrastructure such as hospitals and schools.
Several members of the European Parliament reviewed in the human rights symposium held in the European Parliament the crimes committed by the Houthi militias targeting civilians in terrorist attacks especially in the governorates of Ma'rib and Taiz, pointing out that the Houthi militia committed crimes against African refugees by burning them.
They referred to the Houthi violations that affected women through physical and psychological violence, kidnapping, arrest and enforced disappearance, emphasizing that women are the most affected and vulnerable group in conflict zones.
