The Sixth Session of the Yemeni-Dijboutian Joint Ministerial session held today in Dijbouti co-chaired by Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Dr. Ahmed Bin Mubarak and the Dijboutian Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Mahmood Ali Yusef.

The discussions covered a range of topical issues relating to the Yemeni-Djiboutian bilateral ties and cooperation with the purpose of further bolstering cooperation and partnership between the two countries to serve the mutual interests of the Yemeni and Djiboutian peoples.

Bin Mubarak briefed the Djibouti side on the latest developments in Yemen and the Yemeni government's efforts to put an end of the war, make peace and re-establish security and stability. He put blame on the Iran-backed Houthi militia for blocking the UN-led peace efforts, rejecting all regional and international proposals for peace, prolonging the conflict and worsening the Yemeni peoples' suffering.

For his part Yusef voiced the Djiboutian government's and peoples' desire to bring the Yemeni-Djiboutian relations into a new phase of robust cooperation and partnership. He reiterated the Djiboutian government's support for the Yemeni legitimate leadership and the efforts to achieve peace in Yemen.

The at end of the talks the two sides singed a memo of understanding to establish a mechanism for political consultation and six executive programs to carry out the agreements and memos of understanding in the fields of security, youths and sports, education, industry, health and higher education.
