The Arab League has put Yemen's Houthis on its list of terrorist groups and black list of organizations implementing, masterminding and financing terror attacks.

In a statement, the secretariat general of the league's Arab Interior Ministers Council said the designation comes in response to the Houthi militia's long record of violations against the Yemeni population from the September 21, 2014 capture of the capital Sana'a to the ensuing killing, displacement, imprisonment and torture crimes against locals and violations against Yemen's neighbors including the attacks on civilian people and infrastructure in Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
