Speaker of Shura Council Dr. Ahmed Obeid bin Dhagher said " the UN Security Council's recent resolution issued two days ago designated Houthis as a " Terrorist Militia" is international insight and commitment set out the limits of dealing with the Houthis and their regional allies".

His statement came in his contribution to the opening session of the Conference of the League of the Senates, Shura Councils and Similar Assemblies in Africa and Arab world, held in the Moroccan capital Rabat.

He blamed the Houthis for insisting on violence as approach to take control over Yemen under self-mythical claims that they have a divine right to ruling. He said" Many of our friends may not know that the legitimate government engaged several times in negotiations with the Houthis in a bid to reach fair and sustainable peace but they have rejected the outcomes of the talks in Geneva, the state of Kuwait and Stockholm".

He called on the UN's member states to put the UNSCR's 2624 in place in dealing the Houthi militias and their backers in the region in order to help ending the ongoing war and make peace in Yemen.

The Conference of the League of the Senates, Shura Councils and Similar Assemblies in Africa and Arab world has confirmed its support for the unity, territorial integrity and stability of Yemen and its legitimate leadership headed by the President of the Republic Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi.
