The Yemeni Government has renewed its warning of the unaffordable environmental and humanitarian disaster that Safer Oil Tanker poses due to Houthi militia's rejection to cooperate with the international efforts to avoid the looming catastrophe.
Minister of Water and Environment Eng. Tawfeq al-Sharjabi called for ramping-up international pressures upon Houthi militias to stop blocking the efforts aiming to inspect the decayed oil tanker and make the urgently needed maintenance to prevent oil spill into the Red Sea.
His statement came as he delivered speech today at the 5th Session of the UN General Assembly for Environment held in the Kenyan capital Niarobi.
