Interior Minister meets Commander of the Joint Forces in Riyadh

Interior Minister Major General Ibrahim Haidan met today in Riyadh with the commander of the joint forces, Lieutenant-General Mutlaq Al-Azima, to discuss the security situation in the liberated Yemeni governorates and efforts to combat terrorism and drug and weapons smuggling.

The Minister explained that the Yemeni coasts, which extend along the coastal strip from the borders of Oman to Midi, on the borders of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, need concerted efforts and technical and logistical support to the Coast Guards to enhance surveillance. He indicated that the security services in the past period were able to seize many smugglers working for the Houthi militia which depends on drugging its fighters with narcotics and pushing them to the battlefield to fight unconsciously alongside the militia.

For his part, Lieutenant-General Al-Azima commended the efforts made by the Yemeni Ministry to normalize the security situation in most of the liberated governorates.
