A memorandum of understanding for cooperation between Yemen and Egypt in the fields of oil, natural gas and mining was signed by the Oil ministers of both Yemen and Egypt.
The signing came during the first day of the Fifth Egypt International Petroleum Conference and Exhibition, the memorandum. The MoU which had been agreed upon during the visit of Prime Minister Dr. Maeen Abdel-Malik to Cairo last October, aims to exchange scientific, technical and technological expertise in the field of oil and natural gas, and discuss the participation of Egyptian petroleum sector companies in the design and construction of petroleum projects in Yemen and the development of the institutional framework and organizational structures for Yemeni oil, gas and mining companies.
