PM receives French Ambassador to Yemen in Aden

Prime Minister Dr. Ma'een Abdulmalik received today in the temporary capital Aden Ambassador of the Republic of France to the Republic of Yemen Jean-Marie SAFA.

The conversations covered topical issues including the developments in the Yemeni national arena, UN – led efforts to handle Safer Oil Tanker's problem, government's plans to manage economic hardships and the French role in support of the Yemeni government and people.

Ma'een briefed SAFA on the latest developments relating to the military, economic and humanitarian situations, citing the government's action-plans and efforts to improve basic services, cope with economic challenges and allay the Yemeni peoples' suffering.

He also affirmed the government's approval to the proposal suggested by the UN to get Safer Oil Tanker problem solved, placed blame on Houthi militia for rejecting the suggestion, calling for ramping up international pressures on the militia to stop blocking the efforts aiming to avoid the looming environmental disaster of the decayed tanker.

The French Ambassador reiterated France's supportive stance in support of the Yemeni government and people. He stated that his country is keen to support the UN-led efforts to make peace.

Minister of Oil and Mineral Abdussalam Ba-Abood was in presence.
