Vice President of the Republic (Lt Gen) Ali Mohsen Saleh met here today with the Acting-Head of the European Union (EU) Mission in the Republic of Yemen Marion La lice.
The conversations focused on the developments in Yemen and the efforts to achieve peace. Mohsen voiced his appreciation for the EU's support for Yemen and its efforts to push peace.
He blamed Iran-backed Houthi militias for blocking all peace efforts and proposals.
The Vice President stated that the Yemeni government and Arab Coalition have dealt constructively with all international good offices and the UN's efforts, but the Houthi militias responded with more crimes and atrocities against the Yemeni people, further escalation of its attacks on the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates, threatening the international maritime navigation, security and peace.
Mohsen called on the international community to have a decisive role toward Houthis' terrorist behavior, impose tough sanctions on the militias and its Iranian backers and designate the militia as a terrorist organization, as this is important to deter the militia's hostile and subversive practices and force it come to peace.
The EU diplomat stated that the EU is continuing to support the Yemeni government and all international and UN-led efforts to make peace in Yemen.
