The Council of Ministers has called for designating Iran-allied Houthi militia as a terrorist organization in view of the militia's serious escalation and recent attacks on the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), United Arab Emirates (UAE) and civilians in Yemen.

In its session held today in the temporary capital Aden presided over by Prime Minister Dr. Ma'een Abdulmalik, the Cabinet welcomed the US President's statements about the idea of reconsidering the designation of the militia as a terrorist organization.

The Foreign Minister presented a report about the underway political and diplomatic efforts to blacklist Houthi militia as a terrorist organization following its dangerous escalation and terrorist attacks on the civil facilities in the KSA, UAE, civilians and IDPs in Yemen.

The Council of Ministers discussed the latest developments in the country including the significant military advancements the government's troops have gained against the militiamen in the two governorates of Shabwa and Marib.
The government's efforts to manage the economic challenges were also elaborately discussed.
