PM: It is time for IC to act firmly against Houthi militia's terrorist actions

Prime Minister Dr. Ma'een Abdulmalik stated that it is high time for the International Community (IC) to take stern measures against the Iran-allied Houthi militia's terrorist practices, as the militia has continued to refuse to come to peace, work on further widening the conflict scope, worsening the Yemenis' suffering, offer Iran a chance to make Yemen a launching pad to target neighboring countries, destabilize the region's security and stability.

His comments came as he received here today Ambassador of the United Kingdom (UK) to the Republic of Yemen Richard Oppenheim.

The discussions covered a range of topical issues including the latest developments in the national Yemeni arena amid Houthi militia military escalation and its recurrent attacks on the civil facilities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), British role in support of the Yemeni government and the government's efforts to manage economic hardships, make necessary reforms, to get Riyadh Agreement implemented in full and the needed international support for the government.

Ma'een highly praised the significant role of the UK in support of the Yemeni legitimate leadership and Yemeni people, deeply appreciating the British government's efforts to support the Yemeni government, push the peace.

The Prime Minister touched upon the government's action-plans and efforts to handle different challenges, achieve the necessary reforms and stop the depreciation of the national currency value.

He highlighted the need for an urgent international economic support for the government's efforts aiming to manage the economic hardships.

The Biritish Ambassaodor expressed his government's support the Prime Minister and his government's efforts to achieve the economic stability, provide the Yemeni peoples with the basic services and get Riyadh Agreement completely implemented.

He also stated that his country is very keen to support the efforts to make peace in Yemen.
