RIYADH-SABA
Minister of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs Ahmad bin Mubarak discussed Monday with Chargé d'affaires of US Embassy in Yemen Catherin Westly latest developments in Yemen.
Bin Mubarak made it clear that the recent victory against Houthi militia in different warfronts reflects unity and integration of national forces with support from the Saudi-led Coalition.
He pointed out that realizing inclusive and just peace in accordance with the three agreed upon references is the goal the government seeks to realize, stressing necessity of Houthi militia's abandon of force and to surrender to implementation of Security Council's resolutions and to respond unconditionally to efforts exerted by UN envoy to Yemen.
He pointed out to Houthi militia's continuous killing of civilians, planting thousands of mines and destroying bridges and roads in a clear message that this militia "plants only destruction," neglecting lives of civilians.
For her part, the US diplomat reaffirmed her country's position towards Houthi militia's military escalation and aggressive acts destabilizing Yemen and maritime navigation lines in the Red Sea.
She pointed out to her country's continuous support to UN envoy's efforts to reach a political and peaceful solution to Yemen's crisis.
