Prime Minister Dr. Ma'een Abdulmalik stressed that markets and prices must be kept under strict supervision and control to ensure that prices have already reduced corresponding with the remarkable improvement of the national currency exchange rate.

He said" We're fighting a very hard economic battle, positive outcomes started to be felt, we have managed to control speculations in the currency market, national currency value has been improved with 40%, accordingly prices of commodities and services ought to be reduced".

His remarks came during his meeting today in the temporary capital Aden with the leaderships of Ministry of Industry and Trade, General Authority for Classifications, Standards and Quality Controll and the High Committee for Consumer Protection.

He directed the authorities in charge to deal firmly with the merchants who manipulated the prices, take on smuggling actions, make sure of the good quality of commodities, take punitive measures against violators.

" The manipulators will be dealt with firmly, manipulate prices directly affect the peoples' subsistence and daily life living conditions, it can't be tolerated under whatever reasons", he said.

The Prime Minister touched upon financial, monetary and managerial reforms in the government's institutions and organizations, saying there are resolutions will be made in all financial institutions and there will be no tolerance with the careless officials.
