Planning Minister, OCHA Director discuss strengthening cooperation

Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Dr. Waed Badheib, discussed with the United Nations Humanitarian Coordinator in Aden (OCHA) in the temporary capital Aden today strengthening aspects of cooperation and coordination between the ministry and OCHA in various fields, especially with regard to the implementation of humanitarian and development projects in various provinces in the country.

The meeting in which many officials from the ministry and OCHA participated touched on a number of issues related to the humanitarian situation and the needs of the IDPs In the camps and the advancement of development aspects to alleviate the suffering among the IDPs, the hosting communities and the various groups affected by the war imposed by the Iranian-backed Houthi militia.

The minister stressed the importance of strengthening relations between the ministry and OCHA, based on full cooperation and coordination and on transparency, and its positive reflection on the implementation of humanitarian plans and projects.
He praised the main and vital roles of OCHA in the humanitarian and development fields, to alleviate the effect of the Houthi military escalation and violations.
