Prime Minister Dr. Ma'een Abdulmalik held a meeting today with the Ambassadors of the five permanent member state of the UN international security council (the P50) to the Republic of Yemen.
The session intended to discuss the latest developments in the Yemeni national arena including the government's efforts to handle the economic hardships, the continuation of Houthi militia's military escalations and the UN-led efforts to make peace.
The Prime Minister detailed the Ambassadors on the government's plans and efforts to manage the economic challenges, reformative steps have been taken to bring about the needed financial reforms and the challenges it has been facing.
He highlighted the pressing need to bail out Yemen's national economy as soon as possible, calling on the P5 countries to mobilize regional and international resources to support the government's efforts.
Concerning to the peace process, Ma'een reiterated the government's full support to the efforts have been made by the UN envoy to establish peace that is based on the three terms of peace references.
The P5 Ambassadors renewed their full support for the government's efforts to provide the Yemeni peoples with basic services, carry out the needed reforms and achieve the urgently needed economic stability.
They urged all Yemeni parties to work together with the UN on drawing a comprehensive plan to make peace in Yemen.
The P5 diplomats also called on all parties to work immediately on establishing an overall cease-fire.
