Planning minister participates in meeting on Arab countries' report

Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Wa'id Batheeb participated Monday, via video-conferencing technology, in a meeting on releasing the Report of Under Developed Arab Countries, including Yemen.

The report is made by the UN Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) in partnership with Saudi Program for Yemen's development and reconstruction.

Minister of Planning talked in his speech he delivered before the Executive Secretary of ESCWA Rola Dochti and the General Monitor of the Saudi Program Ambassador Mohammad Al Jaber, about difficult conditions of past decade, especially in field of economy, development and livelihood.

He confirmed that the government of Yemen, represented by Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation, has worked on drafting priorities of the forthcoming period as joint vision with other Arab underdeveloped countries.

Peace cannot be realized without development as development cannot be realized without peace, said planning minister, pointing out to priorities led by reconstruction and capacity building of these counties, including Yemen.
