Aden - Saba
Minister of Water and Environment, Tawfiq Al-Sharjabi, discussed with the Director of the UNICEF Office in the temporary capital Aden today the ministry's plans and projects for the coming year 2022, and ways of cooperation and partnership to implement them and operate water fields and sewage treatment plants.
Al-Sharjabi stressed the importance of providing the necessary oil derivatives to operate water fields and sewage treatment plants, and working on a plan to expand the establishment of solar power plants to operate them before lifting diesel subsidies to avoid their sudden shutdown of services, including the pumping of water in many cities, which will affect stability and the livelihoods of citizens and cause the spread of diseases and epidemics.
He pointed out that institutional building is a major part of the objectives of grants and aid provided by donors to Yemen, and is no less important than the implementation of projects so that these projects do not become useless.
