Deputy Governor of Hadhramout for the Valley and Desert Districts' Affairs Isam al-Katheri discussed Wednesday with the Director of World Food Program in Aden Motenta Shimoka means of increasing humanitarian assistances to citizens in the districts of the valley and desert of Hadhramout.
Al-Katheri discussed with Shimoka the most important needs to help promote agricultural work in the desert of Hadhramout, which more than 70 percent of the valley population depend on to fill the food gap under current difficult conditions.
He praised relief assistances provided by the program to the people of Hadhramout as these assistances cover a part of real need of citizens.
He reviewed procedures and interventions taken by the local authority of Hadhramout to alleviate suffering of the people.
For her part, the director of the WFP in Aden made it clear that the program's priorities are providing urgent humanitarian assistances in addition to implementing projects, which have direct benefits to the society.
