Yemen's Minister of Water and Environment Eng. Tawfik Alsharjabi, discussed with the Hungarian Interior Minister today the efforts and means of promoting and developing bilateral relations between the two friendly countries and the possibility of taking advantage of Hungarian experiences in the development of integrated water resources management plans, and water and soil conservation techniques.

They agreed to sign a memorandum of understanding.

They also discussed enhancing international cooperation to prevent the environmental and humanitarian and economic threat, due to the large quantity of crude oil stored on the decaying oil tanker given the rejection of Iranian-backed coup militia of Houthis to cooperate in this regard.

They discussed the difficult economic and political conditions experienced by our country due to the war launched by the Houthi militia for more than 7 years.

Talks also reviewed the higher population growth and demographic change of the population, due to the state of war and internal displacement and the impact of it.

The Hungarian minister stressed the importance of international cooperation to avoid the largest environmental disaster in modern times posed by the stranded oil tanker stressing the Hungarian stance, as well as Yemen in all that would end this serious environmental threat.
