Minister of Water and Environment, Tawfiq Abdul Wahed Al-Sharjabi, discussed with Oxfam representatives a project to rehabilitate pumping lines and sewage stations in the districts of Tawahi, Sirah and Khormaksar in Aden governorate, which is implemented by Oxfam with funding from the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development in the Germany.
In a meeting in the temporary capital Aden today discussions were held on what was accomplished within the framework of the study based on the project, the rehabilitation of the Sirah Khormaksar line, the completion of the study of the Khormaksar-Arish line, the percentage of the funding shortfall to complete the rehabilitation of other lines and the time period of the project.
The minister stressed the importance of the project, being one of the most important vital projects in Aden governorate, due to the health and environmental effects of the project. He stressed the need to set a timetable for the project, as it took a long time in the study phase.
