Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Dr. Ahmed Bin Mubarak and his Iraqi counterpart Dr. Fowad Hussein conferred today, Friday, over bilateral relationships between the two countries.

The discussions which held on the sideline of the 17th Session of Manama Dialogue covered the latest developments in Yemen.

Bin Mubarak briefed Hussein on the situations in Yemen amid Houthi militia intransigence and insistence on fighting, rejecting all peace proposals.

They also agreed that it is important to speed up arrangements for signing the cultural cooperation agreement between the two countries to serve as a key for reviving the Yemeni-Iraqi robust relations.

The Iraqi Foreign Minister reiterated his country's supportive stance in support of the legitimate Yemeni government, Yemen's unity, security, stability and territorial integrity.

Hussein stated that Iraq is supporting all regional and international efforts to establish peace in Yemen, end the war and humanitarian crisis, as the only solution is to sit-down to negotiate a settlement, push political process.
