'MLAHR' appeals to UN to stop Houthi Militia mass-executions in Hodeidah

Ministry of Legal Affairs and Human Rights (MLAHR) issued an urgent appeal to the UN, its agencies and international organizations operate in Yemen to stop current mass-execution crimes and wide-scale aggressive revenge campaign launched by the insurgent Houthi militia against the civilians in the regions of Attohytah, al-Gah, Annokhailah, Attayef, Attor and al-Mageals of Hodeidah governorate.

In a press release the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) familiar with, the MLAHR reported that Houthi militia has embarked on a vicious vengeance and clampdown operation against the inhabitants of those regions from which the Joint Forces withdrew. The Houthi militiamen have been carrying out mass-executions, torture and brutal assaults against the people.

The Ministry confirmed that it documented torture incidents against civilians who never engaged in combat operations and the fighters who were held prisoners were mercilessly tortured and crucified.

The Ministry added that the Houthi militiamen have been launching arbitrary and kidnapping and prowling operations against the people of the aforementioned regions. As a results thousands of the population have fled for their lives.
