Deputy Governor of Marib Abd-Rabu Miftah discussed Thursday with Office Director of Norway Refugee Council in Yemen and Field Coordinator of International Integration Organization in Yemen situations developments of displaced people in Marib.

In his meeting with the officials of the two organizations separately, Miftah got acquainted with humanitarian interventions to be provided to Marib in the future and their contribution in improving conditions of displaced people from southern areas of the province and alleviating their suffering.

He confirmed that thousands of families, who have been forced to displace recently over Houthi militia's continuous military escalation on their areas in southern Marib, are in bad need of humanitarian assistances, especially shelter, food and water, as well as other basic services to alleviate their suffering of displacement and very called winter in Marib.

He called upon partners of humanitarian work to provide more help to fill the big humanitarian gap in the province and improving conditions of displaced people under the already difficult economic conditions and deterioration of the price of the local currency.

The representatives of the two organizations appreciated efforts of the local authority and its continuous cooperation with international organizations to enable them provide their humanitarian services to displaced people.

They reviewed most important interventions the two organizations will provide to displaced people in Marib in the future.
