Minister of Public Health and Population Qasem Buhaibeh discussed Wednesday with Deputy Coordinator of UN Human Affairs humanitarian support to Yemen's health sector.
Buhaibeh reviewed humanitarian situations in Yemen, especially in Shabwa, Baidha'a and Southern Marib over Houthi militia's recent military escalation resulted in big waves of displaced people to Marib City, which their numbers have reached 55 thousand, as well as stop services of a number of hospitals over continuous shelling.
For his part, the UN official expressed concern over deteriorating situations in Marib, pointing out to possible increase of support and relief, mainly to Marib.
He called upon all international organizations to unify their humanitarian efforts in Marib to avoid famine if military escalation continues, urging ICRC and MSF to double their efforts and increase their services.
