Prime Minister Ma'een Abdulmalik discussed Monday with UK Ambassador to Yemen Richard Oppenheim through videoconferencing latest developments in Yemen and needed international support to the government to realize economic and livelihood stability to Yemeni people.
The meeting reviewed Houthi militia's escalation on Marib and repeated shelling against civilians and displaced people and international positions towards this aggression on Marib.
The two parties discussed Safir Tanker Issue and the potential environment disaster if the oil tanker explodes or leaks into the Red Sea water in addition to UN efforts for the realization of peace in Yemen amid Houthi militia's stubbornness.
Prime Minister talked about challenges facing the government in economic, financial and service domains and its efforts to face them and significance of swift international support to avoid economic collapse, pointing out that the government is doing its best to alleviate repercussions of drop prices of Yemeni Riyal.
He pointed out to Houthi militia's crimes against civilians and displaced people in Marib and other provinces, the recent one bombing Dar al-Hadith in Joba District, a mosque for teaching Prophet's sayings. The shelling of the mosque resulted in destroying the whole mosque and killed and injured dozens of civilians.
For his part, the UK diplomat expressed his denunciation to the terrorist attack targeted Aden International Airport's gate and confirmed UK support to government and Yemeni people to combat terrorism.
He also expressed concern over Houthi militia's escalation in Marib and significance of stopping violence and targeting civilians and displaced people, pointing out to UN efforts to make quick solutions to Safir Tanker's issue.
