Deputy Minister of Legal Affairs and Human Rights Nabil Abdulhafiz participated Friday in the meetings of the Committee of Eradicating Discrimination Against Woman here.
In his speech he delivered in the meetings, he expressed Yemen's appreciation to efforts exerted by the committee to help signatory countries of the treaty to improve its commitment and implementation of its rules.
He confirmed government's commitment of woman, peace and security agenda and including them in efforts of mediation and peace building, pointing out that the National Dialogue Conference granted women 30 percent of representation in elected and government institutions.
He reviewed current situation in Yemen over Houthi militia's military coup against the state on the 21st of September 2014, which failed the state and international community's efforts and Yemeni woman has been affected directly, pointing out that Yemen has been facing huge displacement problem since 2015 till 2019 and the number of displaced people has reached 3.3 million and there are 14 million people are very poor.
He confirmed government's care of woman, pointing out that Yemeni constitution and military laws criminalize any violence and sex violence against women, pointing out to Houthi militia's sex violence and humiliation against women opposing them.
