RIYADH – SABA
The Minister of Information Muammar Al-Eryani, called on the international community to put real pressure on the Iranian-backed Houthi militia to stop its systematic targeting of civilians, and immediately lift the siege on the Abdiya district, south of Marib Governorate.
He told Saba that the Houthi militia continues to launch campaigns of systematic abuse and revenge against the residents of the besieged Abdiya district, physically eliminating the wounded, kidnapping civilians, storming, looting and burning homes, shops, schools and public places, intimidating women and children, and preventing the entry of food and medical supplies.
Al-Eryani stressed that the crimes and continuous violations committed by the Houthi militia against civilians, including women, children and the elderly in Abdiya district since its siege, are war crimes and genocide prosecutable with no statute of limitations.
He also called on the international community, the United Nations, and the UN and US envoys to take a firm stance regarding the horrific crimes and violations of the Houthi militia against the people of Abdiya, which constitute a flagrant and unprecedented violation of international and humanitarian law.
