Prime Minister Dr. Ma'een Abdulmalik restated that he is confident that the Peoples' Republic of China will continue to contribute actively to the peace efforts bilaterally or through international frameworks represented by the UN and International Security Council. He stated that more pressures upon Houthi militia and its backers in Tehran are needed to push peace.

As he spoke with the Chinese Ambassador to Yemen Kang Yong today over phone, Ma'een highly praised the Chinese continues support for the legitimate Yemeni government , deeply appreciated Chin's keenness to effectually contribute to the efforts aiming to make peace, re-establish security and stability in Yemen.

The telephone conversations covered the latest developments in Yemen amid Houthi militia military escalation on Marib, militia's rejection of all calls for halting its aggression.

The Chinese support for the Yemeni government and joint coordination were also touched upon.

The Chinese Ambassador re-welcomed the government return to the temporary capital Aden. He also reiterated China's support for the efforts to get Riyadh Agreement implemented in full and to the Yemeni government's efforts to achieve security, stability and normalize situations in the government-held governorates.
