Minister of Finance Salem bin Buraik has participated via videoconferencing in the annual meetings of the World Bank and International Monetary Fund for 2021on climate changes' challenges with participation of ministers of finance, governors of banks and heads of financial corporations in the Middle East, North of Africa, Afghanistan and Pakistan.

The meeting shed lights on climate changes in the Middle East, included lack of readiness to face these changes, lack of infrastructure reducing effects of climate changes and policies in field of conditioning and alleviating of those changes.

Yemen is considered one of the most affected countries in the Middle East of climate changes, let alone huge humanitarian challenges facing the country over Houthi militia's triggered war, in addition to changes of waves of repeated floods and draught, said bin Buraik.

He touched upon interventions and assistances needed by Yemen, especially helping introduce the situation in Yemen to the international community and encouraging donors to support Yemen's Central Bank and mobilizing donors' financing to strategic and vital sectors in Yemen in coordination with the government.
