Foreign Minister, Dr. Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak, briefed today the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, about the tragic situation in the Al-Abdiya district in the Marib governorate as a result of the Houthi siege on the district for more than twenty days.
The Minister said that the Houthi militias are denying food, medicine and water supplies to 35,000 civilians, including children and women, in addition to more than 400 wounded, pointing out that the Houthi militias continue to target villages and population centers with all kinds of weapons, in addition to targeting 18 schools and the local hospital of the afflicted rural region
Bin Mubarak called on the United Nations and its agencies to intervene urgently to save the lives of civilians and condemn this siege, which amounts to a war crime.
