In a telephone conversation with the Resident Representative and Humanitarian Coordinator of the United Nations in our country, David Grisley, Foreign Minister, Dr. Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak, discussed the tragic humanitarian situation faced by tens of thousands of residents of the Abdiya district in Ma’rib governorate as a result of the barbaric siege imposed by Houthi militias on two weeks ago.

Minister Ben Mubarak said that the coup militias cut food and medical supplies, prevent the evacuation of the wounded, and attack the district with ballistic missiles and all kinds of heavy weapons, and commit the most heinous crimes against the civilian population, in flagrant violation of all human rights principles and the rules of international humanitarian law.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs called on the United Nations and its specialized agencies to urgently intervene to save the lives of civilians and end the brutal siege, condemning it as a war crime punishable by international law and with no statute of limitations.
