Council of Ministers held its session today in the temporary capital Aden presided over by Prime Minister Dr. Ma'een Abdulmalik.
The session devoted to discuss economic , military and security challenges, basic services, commodities and fuels supplies and humanitarian situations.
The Cabinet elaborately discussed national currency depreciation, explored possible solutions and approved some practical measures to help maintaining the Yemeni Rial (YR) exchange rates.
The Cabinet has endorsed some practical measures including governorates' revenues should be deposited in the government general bank account, non-basic commodity imports should be restricted and taking the advantages of Yemen's Special Rights Withdrawn from the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
The Cabinet has decided that any internal contracts or transitions should only done by the (YR) and any contract or transition made with foreign currencies is considered illegal.
The Cabinet discussed necessary measures to ensure fuels supplies all over the country at reasonable prices.
Ensuring regular salary paid for military and security personnel in the coming stage was also addressed.
Basic services improvement mainly water and electricity was a key focus of the Cabinet's deliberations. Several measures have been approved to manage challenges facing electricity and water sectors.
