Governor of Taiz Nabil Shamsan discussed Tuesday with the UN Envoy for Yemen Hans Grundberg humanitarian situations in the province over Houthi militia's war and siege on the city.
He reviewed details of Houthi siege on the city since 2015, destruction in the city over the war the militia wage on Yemeni people, killing civilians among them children and women, pointing out that the siege has significantly impacted lives of the people, their livelihoods and stop of public services.
He confirmed significance of including Taiz humanitarian suffering in initiative of the UN envoy for stopping the war and commencing peace talks, opening all roads and help the local authority to operate Makha Port and Power Station.
He stressed significance of organizing water distribution in the unliberated areas in Taiz to alleviate suffering of people from water crisis, expressing pleasure for this meeting with the UN envoy.
For his part, the UN envoy confirmed importance of Taiz and its humanitarian suffering, pointing out to significance of including humanitarian needs by the province through opening main roads and easing arrival of goods and services.
