Minister of Transport Abdulsalam Humaid and Governor of Aden Ahmad Lamlas discussed Wednesday means of boosting and improving services of Aden Gulf Ports Corporation and promoting its capabilities to be able to contest with other ports.
The meeting, which included other concerned officials, touched upon difficulties and problems facing the corporation.
Minister of transport confirmed that promoting services and operational capacities of the liberated ports led by Aden Port is on the top priorities of the government, pointing out to the ministry's plans to encourage private sector and including companies and navigational chambers to activate the port and granting it privileges and facilitations to play its leading role of pushing development wheel forward.
He reviewed results of meetings of governors with the political leadership to address the situation of the ports and organizing their marine activities.
He stressed significance of solving problems facing Aden Port and speeding up ship services, confirming strategic importance of capacity building of the port and its facilities.
For his part, governor of Aden praised efforts exerted by leadership and employees of Aden Gulf Ports Corporation to keep its activities despite exceptional conditions, confirming that the forthcoming period requires integration of all to promote Aden Port's activities as one of the best regional and international ports.
The minister and the governor inspected quays of Containers Station or Caltex and were briefed on the process of unloading and uploading containers.
