[29/09/2021 03:41]

ADEN - SABA
The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) has received a $5 million contribution from the USAID Office of Humanitarian Aid to support the health and protection of the most vulnerable women and girls in Yemen.

In a statement received by Saba, the UNFPA said that this support would help provide health care, obstetric emergency and maternal care in 14 hospitals and two mobile health clinics in eight Yemeni governorates, as well as targeting the areas most in need of assistance.

It said that six safe spaces for women and girls will be supported, which in turn will provide psychological and social care, legal assistance, medical services and livelihood opportunities, and support mental health services in two specialized centers for this purpose.

The statement said that over the next twelve months, this support will contribute to providing life-saving reproductive health and protection services to more than 300,000 Yemeni women and girls, from the most vulnerable segment, noting that the continued lack of funding contributed significantly to undermining life-saving services for women and girls. throughout Yemen.
