[23/09/2021 01:46]
GENEVA – SABA
A member of the Yemeni Journalists Syndicate Council, Nabil Al-Osaydi, revealed that the Iranian-backed Houthi militias have killed 46 Yemeni journalists and committed more than 1,400 violations against Yemeni journalists.

In a symposium organized by the Humane Association for Rights in coordination with the Swiss Press Club, Al-Osaydi pointed out that the year 2015 was the worst in the history of violations against the press, pointing out that the freedom of the press in Yemen was a victim of armed groups.

Media institutions were raided, some of which were closed, and dozens of news websites were blocked, stressing that Yemen is the most dangerous country for journalists' lives. Al-Osaydi gave an account on the conditions of Yemeni journalists and the killing, arrest and enforced disappearance of a number of them at hands of the Houthi militia.

He held the Houthi militia responsible for the violations and attacks against journalists.
