[17/09/2021 07:32]

ADEN-SABA
The Government of Yemen has directed a letter Friday to the UN Security Council on Houthi militia's crime of attacking and bombing Makha Port.

" This Houthi attack has been carried out shortly after finalizing rehabilitation of the port's facilities by the local authority in preparations for resumption of receiving commercial goods and humanitarian assistances to alleviate suffering of Yemeni people," said the government in the letter, which was handed over by Yemen's Permanent Representative to the UN Abdullah al-Sa'adi .

The letter said that the attack destroyed four buildings, three stores, watchtower, 23 vehicles, two boats for Coast Guards, two tankers, 70 oxygen cylinders and 12,000 food parcels, noting that the attack deprived tens thousands of families from receiving life-saving assistances through the port.

The letter pointed out that the attack coincided a visit to Minister of Transport for inspecting the port after rehabilitation and this is not the first time the militia targets government officials, especially after failure of the Security Council to hold Houthi militia's responsible on the attack targeting the government at Aden Airport on December 2020.
