Yemen's Minister of Public Health and Population, Dr. Qassem Beheibeh, discussed today with the Chargé d'Affairs of the German Embassy to Yemen Michel Westland, the bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to support the health sector in Yemen.
They also discussed a number of issues, foremost of which is facing the new waves of the coronavirus epidemic and the challenges facing the Ministry of Health, especially as the Houthi militia continue their war and destruction of the infrastructure of health institutions in Yemen.
The minister expressed Yemen's aspiration for more German support for the health sector in Yemen, in order to alleviate the difficult humanitarian situation that Yemenis have been experiencing since the Houthi coup in 2014.
Westland praised the efforts of the Yemeni Ministry of Health, especially in the difficult circumstances that Yemen is witnessing, stressing Germany's full support for the Yemeni government to alleviate the humanitarian crisis and achieve security and stability.
