Bin Mubarak discusses with Dutch FM latest developments in Yemen

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ahmad Awadh bin Mubarak discussed Monday with Dutch Foreign Minister Sigrid Kaag development of political and humanitarian situations in Yemen and issues associated with mutual relations between the two countries.

Praising support of Netherlands to Yemen, bin Mubarak reviewed UN efforts for realizing peace and ending Houthi militia's coup on the bases of the three agreed upon references. He confirmed government's aspiration for cooperation with the new envoy to Yemen.

He reaffirmed necessity of taking serious measures by the international community to put an end to Houthi militia's stubbornness and its rejection to all efforts aiming at realizing peace and their continuous aggression against Yemeni people and destabilization of the region.

He pointed out to Houthi militia's continuous terrorist attacks against Marib and nearby areas leaving many victims among civilians, especially women and children, in addition to obstacles made by the militia before handing over food and medical goods and oil derivatives to citizens in their held areas.

For her part, the Dutch FM confirmed importance of resumption of talks for finding peaceful solutions to Yemen's conflict. She expressed her country's concern towards Safir Oil Tanker Issue, which requires imminent solution to avoid environmental disaster in Yemen and the region.

She confirmed readiness of Netherlands for contribution in finding solutions to deal with Safir Issue and her country will continue providing different forms of support to Yemen to face humanitarian challenges.
