PM receives British Ambassador to Yemen

Prime Minister Dr. Ma'een Abdulmalik received today the newly appointed Ambassador of the United Kingdom to the Republic of Yemen Richard Oppenheim.

The session aimed to discuss the latest developments in Yemen and the UN-led peace efforts and international good offices intended to establish peace in Yemen. The ongoing efforts to get Riyadh Agreement implemented in full were also elaborately discussed.

Dr. Ma'een highly praised the British supportive stance in support of the Yemeni legitimate leadership, Yemen's security and stability.

He reiterated the government's commitment to make peace based on the three agreed upon peace references. He stated that the government is committed to support the efforts have been made by the UN's new envoy to make peace, re-establish security and stability.

Dr. Ma'een blamed Houthi militia for blocking the ongoing peace efforts, rejecting all proposals and refusing to come to peace.

The Prime Minister highlighted the need for getting Riyadh Agreement implemented in full so that the government can return to the temporary capital Aden to do its job.

The British Ambassador affirmed his country's support for the Yemeni government in different fields.
